Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA khususnya biologi dapat mengukur sejauh mana pemahaman peserta didik dalam memahami hal yang sudah dipelajarinya. Hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi sebelumnya masih berada di bawah KKM yaitu 68 dengan rata-rata nilai kelas yaitu 55,1. Model Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) dirancang untuk membantu pengembangan pemahaman konsep yang sulit dipahami oleh peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Cileunyi. Kelas yang dijadikan sampel yaitu kelas VIII-D dan VIII-F yang berjumlah 43 peserta didik untuk setiap kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes (pretest dan posttest), dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik menggunakan model CUPs pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai N-Gain 0,51 (berkategori sedang), sedangkan pada kelas kontrol 0,24 (berkategori rendah). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai model pembelajaran CUPs lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol, hasil uji hipotesis uji t diperoleh thitung 16,87 > ttabel 2,02 dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran CUPs berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. The low learning outcomes of students in science subjects, especially biology can measure the extent to which students understand the understanding of what they have learned. Learning outcomes of students in the previous material are still below the KKM, which is 68 with an average grade value of 55.1. Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) models are designed to help develop understanding of concepts that are difficult for students to understand. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with the design of Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research was conducted at Cileunyi Junior High School 1. The classes that were sampled were class VIII-D and VIII-F which amounted to 43 students for each class. Data collection techniques were carried out by tests (pretest and posttest), and observation. The results showed that there was a significant effect on the learning outcomes of students using the CUPs model on the material of the human respiratory system. In the experimental class, the N-Gain value was 0.51 (in the medium category), while in the control class 0.24 (in the low category). These results indicate that the average value of the CUPs learning model is higher than the control class, the results of the t-test hypothesis obtained t count 16.87> t table 2.02 with a significance level of 5%. It can be concluded that the CUPs learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes on the material of the human respiratory system.
