Abstract

INDONESIA Novel adalah salah satu karya sastra yang menarik. Novel adalah teks yang mewakili kehidupan nyata. Dalam beberapa novel, karakter skizofrenik terkadang membuat pembaca bingung untuk membedakan antara cerita nyata dan halusinasi atau delusi dari karakter. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut penulis membatasi Analisa dalam novel Lolita menjadi dua pertanyaan penelitian: 1. Bagaimana aspek-aspek skizofrenik dari gejala primer yang ditemukan dalam karakter Humbert pada novel Lolita? 2. Bagaimana aspek-aspek skizofrenik dari gejala sekunder yang ditemukan dari karakter Humbert pada novel Lolita? Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif dengan sumber data diambil dari narasi dan dialog di dalam novel. Kemudian, narasi dan dialog tersebut di Analisa menggunakan teori skizofrenia dari Eugene Bleuler untuk mengidentifikasi gejala dan sebab skizofrenia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa penggambaran skizofrenia pada karakter Humbert dalam novel Lolita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Humbert menderita skizofrenia yang ditandai oleh gejala primer dan sekunder. Gejala primer mencangkup gangguan asosiasi (mereka yang berakhir dengan perilaku tidak biasa, salah sangka, kebingungan), autisme (kegagalan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan sosial, bahasa dan kemampuan komunikasi), ambivalensi (memiliki dua perasaan yang berlawanan pada saat yang sama), dan gangguan afektif (mereka cederung diam, jarang berfikir, menghindari hubungan individu dan interaksi sosial). Sedangkan, gejala primer ditandai oleh adanya hallusinasi (melihat, mendengar, merasakan, atau mencium sesuatu yang tidak ada) dan delusi (ketika seseorang meyakini sesuatu yang tidak benar). Skizofrenia pada karakter Humbert disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal, yaitu trauma dari pengalaman masa lalunya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah karakter Humbert dalam novel Lolita menderita kelainan mental skizofrenia ENGLISH Novel is one of interesting literary works. It is the text that represents the real life. In some novels, schizophrenic characters sometimes make the writer confused to distinguish between the real story and the character’s hallucination or delusions. Based on the background the writer limits the analysis in Lolita into two research questions: 1. How are schizophrenic aspects of Fundamental Symptoms found in character of Humbert in Lolita novel? 2. How are schizophrenic aspects of Accessory Symptoms found in character of Humbert in Lolita novel? This research used descriptive analytical method with data source are taken from the narrations and dialogues in the novel. Then, the narrations and dialogues were analyzed by using Schizophrenia Theory from Eugene Bleuler to identify schizophrenia symptoms and causes. This study aims to analyze schizophrenia portrayed in Humberts’ character in Lolita novel. The result of this study are Humbert suffered from Schizophrenia indicated by the fundamental symptoms and accessory symptoms. The fundamental symptoms includes association disturbance (Those often end up with unusual behavior, false interpretation and confusion), autism (failure to develop social abilities, language and other communication skills), ambivalence (having two opposing feelings at the same time), and affective disturbance (they tend to be quite, rarely to think, and avoid interpersonal and social interactions). Meanwhile, the accessory symptoms are characterized by hallucinations (see, hear, feel or smell something which does not exist) and delusions (is when someone believes something that is not true). Schizophrenia in Humberts’ character is caused by external factor, which is trauma from his past life experiences. The conclusion of this research is Humberts’ character in Lolita novel suffered Schizophrenia mental disorder.
