Abstract

Research on semantics, especially the analysis of the meaning field in classical literature such as the book of Kasyifatus Saja, is still rarely done. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze the meaning field and meaning components in terms related to thaharah contained in the book Kasyifatus Saja by Syaikh Nawawi al-Bantani. Understanding the terms of Al-Thaharah by knowing the similarities and differences can prevent ambiguity and errors in their application. This research is included in qualitative descriptive research. The theory used in this research is the concept of meaning field and meaning component according to Abdul Chaer's view. Data collection in this research uses the listening method followed by note-taking technique. Data analysis in this research uses the intralingual pairing method with the technique of differentiating comparative relationship (HBB) and equalizing comparative relationship technique (HBS). The results of this study are the grouping of terms that become the meaning field of al-thaharah into two main aspects, namely (1) the type of al-thaharah includes الاستنجاء, الوضوء, الغسل, التيمم. (2) the activity of al-thaharah includes غسل, مسح, الحت, إزالة. Both aspects were analyzed using the elements contained therein, namely the elements of activity, condition and nature, to find out the similarities and differences of each term.
