Abstract

Spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) is one vegetable commodity that has high nutrient content such as calcium. Spinach plant growth is influenced by nutrients (minerals). The tofu industry produces high solid waste which is still high in minerals such as N, P, K, Ca, Mg and C organic. The research has been done to know the effect of solid waste to plant height, number of leaves, root length, wet weight, dry weight, and to know the content of calcium (Ca) of spinach plants. This research was conducted at Faculty of Science and Technology Garden of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati of Bandung in January 2017 until August 2017. The research design used was RAL with 5 replications consisting of 7 treatments, is control group without treatment, control group using synthetic fertilizer, solid waste tofu group with concentrations of 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40%. The results were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with Duncan test at 5% (0.05). The results of this study indicate that P5 or the provision of solid waste tofu with a concentration of 40% showed the best results of the average plant height of 69.1 cm, the average number of leaves by 50 pieces, the average root length of 18.50 cm , the average wet weight of 48.48 g and the average dry weight of 24.90 g. Spinach Ca plant level in P5 was 2.23%.
