Abstract

This study explores the integration of Islamic values in English as a Foreign Language in two Upper Secondary Islamic Boarding Schools in Bandung, focusing on identifying the Islamic values integrated in EFL. Using qualitative methods, data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and document analysis. This study found that the integration of Islamic values in English learning in Islamic boarding schools was carried out through a systematic and flexible approach by teachers. Values such as faith, morals and worship were instilled in the form of honesty (shidq), tolerance (tasamuh), equality (musawah), and responsibility were instilled in various aspects of learning. The first teacher (T1) integrated Islamic values explicitly in the lesson plan and used a structured method, while the second teacher (T2) applied a more spontaneous approach according to the context of the material. The main challenge in this integration is the limited teaching materials that connect English with Islamic values. However, the support of the Ministry of Religion in providing textbooks and digital platforms is an important solution.
