Abstract

Idiomatic expressions with natural elements are an important part of language that reflects the richness of culture and people's perspectives on the environment. This study aims to identify patterns in sentences and analyze the context of idiomatic expressions containing natural elements found in vlogs that have been selected by researchers on YouTube channels. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, research data in the form of transcripts from vlogs that are selected in a structured manner. The results of the study showed that there were 23 data from 3 vlogs selected by researchers. From the data, there are only examples and there are many more in the idiom dictionary. Various idiomatic expressions with natural elements used in vlogs, such as the idiomatic expressions "in deep water", "spill the beans", and "A storm in a tea cup". These expressions not only function as language decorations, but also contain deep meanings about life, social relationships, and cultural values of society. The results of this study show that many idiomatic expressions related to natural elements have non-literal and figurative nature patterns with contexts related to human feelings and their surroundings so that idiomatic expressions are formed. And the idioms analyzed are still used today
