Abstract
This study discusses the challenges faced by English teacher’ in managing learning English classes, as well as the strategies she use to overcome classroom management issues. This study focuses on teacher’ in special education (SLB) who teach English and participate by allowing direct classroom observations and interviews to collect data. The objectives of this study are 1) To find out teacher challenges in managing EFL classroom for deaf students, 2) To Find out what the teacher strategies in managing EFL classroom for deaf students.The results of this study show that the main challenges faced by teacher’ are communication difficulties in delivering material to deaf students, students who become easily bored or distracted during lessons, and personal problems experienced by the students. To solve these challenges, teachers used several strategies, such as preparing teaching materials using various learning media and minimising distractions in the classroom by closing the door and window. Furthermore, teacher’ also do personal interactions with students who are facing issues that impact their learning process to find solution.
