Abstract

INDONESIA : Mayoritas penggemar K-Pop 92,1% merupakan wanita dewasa awal yang secara perkembangan diharapkan telah memiliki social skill yang matang. Namun, banyak dari mereka menunjukkan keterlibatan emosional berlebih terhadap idola sehingga mengabaikana interaksi sosial nyata di sekitarnya. Fenomena ini dikenal sebagai interaksi parasosial ini menimbulkan pertanyaan mengenai sejauh mana social skill mereka berkembang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran social skill pada wanita dewasa awal penggemar K-Pop yang terlibat interaksi parasosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi, serta kuesioner sebagai alat screening untuk menentukan subjek yang sesuai kriteria. Subjek penelitian berjumlah tiga wanita berusia 18-25 tahun, berdomisili di Bandung, penggemar K-Pop baik boygroup ataupun girlgroup, dan memiliki interaksi parasosial tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga subjek memiliki participation skills memadai dan social cognition skills tidak memadai. Sedangkan, interaction skills, communication skills, serta emotional skills dari ketiga subjek tidak & kurang memadai. Hal ini terjadi dikarenakan oleh lingkungan sosialnya, baik itu teman maupun keluarga. ENGLISH : The majority of K-Pop fans 92,1% are early adult women who, developmentally, are expected to have mature social skill. However, many of them display excessive emotional involvement with idols, leading to the neglect of real-life social interactions. This parasocial interaction phenomenon raises questions about the extent of their social skill development. This study aims to explore the social skill of early adult women who are K-pop fans and engage in high levels of parasocial interaction. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and a questionnaire as a screening tool. The participants were three women aged 18-25 years, residing in Bandung, who are fans of K-Pop boy or girl groups, & high levels of parasocial interaction. The results show that all three participants demonstrated adequate participation skills but lacked sufficient social cognition skills. Their interaction, communication, and emotional skills are inadequate & lacking. These outcomes appear to be influenced by their social environment, including both peers and family.
