Abstract

The residents of Bunter Hamlet are known for their strong religious orientation and frequent participation in various communal religious rituals. Despite this, a number of residents report experiencing physical discomfort such as headaches, fatigue, and sleep disturbances, often associated with psychological stress. This study aims to explore the lived experiences of religiousness and subjective well-being among Bunter Hamlet residents. Using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews with three participants, supported by observations and document analysis. The findings reveal that all participants demonstrate high levels of religious commitment, both in belief and practice. However, they also report ongoing struggles with emotional distress and a lack of overall life satisfaction. This suggests a complex relationship between external religious expression and internal psychological well-being within a highly religious community.
