Abstract

INDONESIA: Ulat Grayak (Spodoptera frugiperda) merupakan hama utama dalam budidaya pertanian yang bersifat polifag. Dalam pengendalian ini umumnya dilakukan dengan menggunakan pestisida sintetik, namun penggunaan pestisida sintetik secara terus menerus dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi manusia dan lingkungan Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan adalah penggunaan pestisida nabati berbahan daun bintaro (Cerbera odollam). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung pada ekstrak n-heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol daun bintaro (Cerbera odollam) serta menganalisis pengaruh ekstrak n-heksana, etil asetat dan metanol daun bintaro (Cerbera odollam) terhadap aktivitas makan dan mortalitas S. frugiperda. Ekstraksi daun bintaro dilakukan dengan metode maserasi bertingkat, kemudian dilakukan uji fitokimia untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi dalam pengendalian hama S. frugiperda. Pengaplikasian ekstrak terhadap S. frugiperda dilakukan dengan metode pencelupan daun (leaf dipping methods) pada konsentrasi 0% (kontrol negatif), 1%, 1,5%, 2%, 2,5% sebanyak dua kali pengulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS dan analisis probit untuk memperoleh nilai aktivitas antimakan dan mortalitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak n-heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol daun bintaro memberikan pengaruh terhadap aktivitas makan dan mortalitas S. frugiperda karena positif mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin, steroid, dan terpenoid. Nilai penghambatan aktivitas makan S. frugiperda yang tertinggi terjadi pada perlakuan etil asetat konsentrasi 2,5% sebesar 83,18% dan mortalitas tertinggi pada perlakuan metanol konsentrasi 2,5% sebesar 100%. ENGLISH: The fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is a major polyphagous pest in agricultural cultivation. Its control typically relies on the use of synthetic pesticides; however, continuous use of such chemicals can lead to adverse effects on both human health and the environment. One potential alternative is the use of botanical pesticides derived from plant materials, such as the leaves of Cerbera odollam (commonly known as bintaro). This study aims to identify the secondary metabolites present in the n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts of C. odollam leaves and to analyze the effects of these extracts on the feeding activity and mortality of S. frugiperda. Leaf extraction was carried out using a successive maceration method, followed by phytochemical screening to identify secondary metabolites with potential insecticidal activity. The extracts were applied to S. frugiperda larvae using the leaf dipping method at concentrations of 0% (negative control), 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5%, with two replications. Data were analyzed using SPSS and probit analysis to determine antifeedant activity and mortality rates. The results showed that the n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts of C. odollam leaves affected the feeding behavior and mortality of S. frugiperda, attributed to the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and terpenoids. The highest feeding inhibition (83.18%) was observed with the 2.5% ethyl acetate extract, while the highest mortality rate (100%) was recorded with the 2.5% methanol extract.
