Abstract

This research describes the category and the realization of adjunct. The object is service advertisements in The Jakarta Post (2012-2013) are taken in several editions. Service advertisement is a form of communication that used to promote goods or services for the people. The method is qualitative descriptive methods. It used to describe the categories and the realization of adjunct that used in service advertisement. The process of collecting data, the researcher used literary study. After the data collected, the researcher analyze data which identification, categorization and make a conclusion. The result of this research indicates that there are forty five data that used adjuncts in service advertisement in The Jakarta Post (2012-2013). There are 7 degree adjuncts, 8 instrument adjuncts, 13 location adjuncts, 11 manner adjuncts, and 6 time adjuncts. In this service advertisement, adjunct which has been realized by Noun phrase, adverbial phrase and prepositional phrase.
