Abstract
Mori Trisnawati, 1132040080. EFL Teachers' Implementation on Using Their Lesson Plans (A Multiple Case Study at MTsN 1 Sukabumi, SMP Negeri 1 Bojongpicung, Cianjur, and SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi, Garut) A lesson plan is used to guide EFL teachers in conducting the learning process and reaching the achieved-target. Thus, it is extremely important to teachers. A good lesson plan influences its implementation as well. In Indonesia, lesson plan refers to the syllabus and the syllabus refers to the curriculum. Therefore, the research aims to describe 1) the conformity between the lesson plan and the learning process, and 2) the EFL teachers' perception to their implementation of lesson plan in the classroom. The research is described qualitatively with a multiple case study. There are six participants of the research and they are from different school. Those are MTsN 1 Sukabumi, SMP Negeri 1 Bojongpicung, Cianjur, and SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi, Garut. Interview, observation, and documentation were used to collect the data. There are six steps used to analyze the data: 1) preparing and organizing the data, 2) engaging in an initial exploration of the data and it is coded, 3) using the codes to develop a more general picture of the data descriptions, 4) representing the findings through narratives and visuals, 5) making an interpretation of the results meaning, and 6) conducting strategies to validate the accuracy of the findings. Triangulations was also applied to check the trustworthiness of data analysis. Based on the data analysis, about how the EFL teachers implement their lesson plans, it shows that only one EFL teachers wrote the teacher's activities while other teachers only wrote the students' activities on the lesson plan. The teacher's activities are only written on the pre-activities and post-activities. They neglected some activities and none of them full implemented on the lesson plan. Of 16 activities, two activities were conducted by all EFL teachers as formulated in the lesson plans. It is also found that in EFL teachers' point of view, lesson plan is very important for a teacher. It guides a teacher to teach in the classroom. In addition, it should be made in accordance with all relating aspects, such as curriculum, syllabus, material, media, strategy, school condition, and students' condition. It is recommended that this research provides information about the implementation of a lesson plan to EFL teachers. There should be conformity between the lesson plan and the activities in the classroom. Since it will make lesson plan well implemented. Sumber
