Abstract
This research was based on vocational high school students' inadequate reading comprehension in English. Students faced several problems in terms of reading comprehension due to their lack of vocabulary, and the learning media used in reading activities still relied on conventional media. This study examines the use of the Educaplay Website in improving students' reading comprehension. The primary purpose of this study was to investigate whether the use of the Educaplay Website is significantly effective in improving students' reading comprehension of report texts. Specifically, this study addressed three main points: (1) Students' reading comprehension before using the Educaplay Website, (2) Students' reading comprehension after using the Educaplay Website, (3) The significant difference before and after using the Educaplay Website to improve students' reading comprehension of report text. The conceptual framework in this study was based on three main components: input, process, and output. This study employed two hypotheses: the null hypothesis (H0): The Educaplay Website has no significant effect on students' reading comprehension, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha): The Educaplay Website has a significant effect on students' reading comprehension. This study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design. A group pretest-posttest was used to compare students' reading comprehension before and after using the Educaplay Website. The population of this study consisted of all tenth-grade students enrolled at SMK YPF Bandung in the 2024/2025 academic year. Twenty students from class X TF 1 were selected as samples using the convenience sampling technique. The data of this study were collected through 20 multiple-choice reading comprehension tests administered before and after the treatment. Based on the findings of this study, students' reading comprehension increased significantly by 31, with an average pre-test score of 58.75 and an average post-test score of 89.75, and was categorized as perfect. Based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test results, the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 is smaller than 0.05, which indicates H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The average N-Gain score is 0.8094. Thus, the Educaplay Website is a learning media that effectively improves students' reading comprehension, especially in terms of report text. This suggests that the integration of the Educaplay Website can support the improvement of students' reading comprehension of report texts at the vocational high school level.
