Abstract
Kebutuhan tenaga kerja yang berubah dengan hadirnya teknologi membuat individu perlu meningkatkan keterampilan yang dimiliki. Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) sejatinya menjadi wadah bagi siswa yang secara khusus dipersiapkan untuk mengarungi dunia kerja. Meski begitu, temuan di lapangan menunjukkan minimnya tingkat student engagement di sekolah. Student engagement menjadi suatu hal yang penting guna mematangkan kemampuan siswa agar siap menghadapi dunia kerja. Student engagement dalam hal ini dapat dipengaruhi oleh future orientation dan parental support. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah School Engagement Measure (SEM) MacArthur, Future Time Perspective Scale (FTPS), dan Career-Related Parent Support Scale (CRPSS). Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif kausalitas, penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap 408 siswa SMK ini mengungkap adanya pengaruh positif yang diberikan oleh kedua variabel sebesar 39%. Berdasarkan penelitian ini tentu diharapkan adanya kolaborasi yang positif antara siswa, orang tua, guru, dan pihak sekolah secara umum.
