Abstract

INDONESIA: Fenomena broken home masih menjadi masalah yang signifikan di Indonesia, berdampak pada perkembangan psikologis remaja, termasuk pembentukan self-concept. Siswa yang berasal dari keluarga tidak harmonis cenderung menghadapi penurunan rasa percaya diri, kesulitan berinteraksi, serta rendahnya motivasi belajar. Kondisi ini memerlukan intervensi efektif, salah satunya melalui bimbingan kelompok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas layanan bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan self-concept siswa penyintas broken home di SMK Kencana Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain one group pre-test–post-test. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 22 siswa kelas XI TKJ SMK Kencana Bandung yang memiliki self-concept pada kategori sedang. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner skala Likert yang mengukur lima aspek self-concept. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test setelah data memenuhi uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Penelitian mengacu pada teori self-concept yang dikemukakan Fitts, Burns, dan Calhoun, yang menekankan aspek fisik, pribadi, sosial, moral-etik, dan akademis sebagai dimensi pembentukan konsep diri. Bimbingan kelompok, menurut Prayitno dan Narti, merupakan layanan yang mampu memfasilitasi keterbukaan diri, pengembangan keterampilan sosial, serta penyesuaian diri yang lebih baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, ditemukan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok tidak memberikan perbedaan yang signifikan pada skor self-concept sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Meskipun demikian, terdapat perubahan positif pada beberapa siswa, yang menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan kelompok tetap berpotensi menjadi sarana pengembangan diri apabila dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dan dengan strategi yang tepat. ENGLISH: The phenomenon of broken homes remains a significant issue in Indonesia, affecting the psychological development of adolescents, including the formation of their self-concept. Students from non-harmonious families tend to experience decreased self-confidence, difficulties in social interaction, and low learning motivation. This condition requires effective intervention, one of which is group counseling. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling services in improving the self-concept of students who are survivors of broken homes at SMK Kencana Bandung. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The research sample consisted of 22 eleventh-grade TKJ (Computer and Network Engineering) students at SMK Kencana Bandung who had a moderate level of self-concept. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire measuring five aspects of self-concept. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test after the data met the normality and homogeneity requirements. This study refers to the self-concept theory proposed by Fitts, Burns, and Calhoun, which emphasizes physical, personal, social, moral-ethical, and academic aspects as dimensions in the formation of self-concept. According to Prayitno and Narti, group counseling is a service that facilitates self-disclosure, the development of social skills, and better self-adjustment. Based on the data analysis results, it was found that group counseling services did not produce a significant difference in self-concept scores before and after the treatment. Nevertheless, there were positive changes observed in several students, indicating that group counseling still has the potential to be a means of personal development if implemented consistently and with the right strategies.
