Abstract

The limited utilization of interactive learning media often leads to suboptimal delivery of abstract concepts, affecting students’ learning outcomes. This study aimed to develop interactive learning media using Canva and Genially for teaching the structure of the Earth and atmospheric layers in fifth-grade IPAS classes. A Research and Development (R&D) approach guided by the ADDIE model was employed. Media development was based on Mayer’s Multimedia Learning Theory, and expert validation indicated that the media was highly feasible, with scores of 94% (media experts), 98% (content experts), and 82% (language experts). However, the study was limited to a sample of 30 students and a two-day implementation period at a single elementary school, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Limited-scale trials yielded a 77% student response (feasible), while large-scale trials showed an 89% student response and 92% teacher response (highly feasible). Effectiveness testing demonstrated improvements in student learning outcomes after using the media. These results suggest that Canva- and Genially based interactive learning media are feasible, practical, and effective for fifth-grade IPAS instruction.
