Abstract

INDONESIA: Perkembangan media online memudahkan mahasiswa memperoleh informasi secara cepat. Namun, kecepatan penyebaran informasi sering kali diikuti oleh permasalahan akurasi, seperti ketidaktepatan fakta, ketidaksesuaian judul dan isi berita, serta lemahnya proses verifikasi. Kondisi tersebut dapat memengaruhi tingkat kepercayaan pembaca terhadap media online, termasuk Tribunnews.com yang banyak diakses oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh akurasi pemberitaan media online yang meliputi kebenaran fakta, keseimbangan informasi, kesesuaian judul dan isi berita, serta proses verifikasi terhadap kepercayaan mahasiswa Jurnalistik UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Kredibilitas Sumber (Source Credibility Theory) dari Hovland, Janis, dan Kelley yang menjelaskan bahwa tingkat kepercayaan seseorang terhadap informasi dipengaruhi oleh kredibilitas sumber yang menyampaikan informasi. Penelitian menggunakan paradigma positivistik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode survei eksplanatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 187 mahasiswa Jurnalistik UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS versi 31 melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, asumsi klasik, regresi linear sederhana, uji t, uji F, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akurasi pemberitaan media online berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepercayaan mahasiswa terhadap Tribunnews.com. Hipotesis alternatif diterima dan hipotesis nol ditolak. Semakin tinggi tingkat akurasi pemberitaan, semakin tinggi pula tingkat kepercayaan mahasiswa terhadap media online. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya akurasi dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan audiens. Oleh karena itu, media online perlu menjaga kualitas informasi melalui penyajian berita yang faktual, berimbang, dan terverifikasi, sementara pembaca diharapkan lebih kritis dalam mengonsumsi informasi digital. ENGLISH: The rapid development of online media has made it easier for students to access information. However, the speed of information dissemination is often accompanied by accuracy issues, such as factual inaccuracies, inconsistencies between headlines and news content, and inadequate verification processes. These issues may affect readers' trust in online media, including Tribunnews.com, which is widely accessed by students. This study aims to determine the influence of online media news accuracy, including factual correctness, information balance, consistency between headlines and news content, and verification processes, on the trust of Journalism students at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. This research employs the Source Credibility Theory proposed by Hovland, Janis, and Kelley, which explains that individuals' trust in information is influenced by the credibility of the source delivering the message. The study uses a positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach and explanatory survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 187 Journalism students at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung and analyzed using SPSS version 31 through validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination analysis. The results indicate that online media news accuracy has a significant influence on students' trust in Tribunnews.com. The alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. The findings show that the higher the level of news accuracy, the higher the level of students' trust in online media. This study highlights the importance of news accuracy in enhancing audience trust. Therefore, online media should maintain information quality by providing factual, balanced, and verified news, while readers are expected to be more critical in consuming digital information.
