Abstract
This research analyzed about the Interpersonal Meaning in Jokowi’s speech. This research uses Systemic Functional Linguistic theory of M.A.K Halliday. This research has a purpose to find the Mood types and how the Interpersonal Meaning work inside the speech as object of the research. This research uses the qualitative method. The data is Jokowi’s specch in APPEC CEOs SUMMIT 2014 downloaded from youtube then transcripted into text, then analyzed by Mood System. Mood System, consisting of Mood Block and Residue Block, is used to anaylize 60 sentence and 80 clauses. The Interpersonal Meaning analysis uses the four basic roles analyisis, Mood analysis is to find the character of the sentences, 95% using declarative sentence. Modal Auxiliary analysis is to find the attitude of the speaker, modal “will” found to make promises. Pronoun System analysis is to know who the speaker is,found 38 times of “we” as subject, and Tense Shift analysis is to know the act taken and the time, Jokowi use often uses present tense. The result shows the Interpersonal Meaning happened among the Jokowi as the speaker delegated Indonesian People in accepting other countries investor as listener.
