Abstract

INDONESIA: Imru’ al-Qays dipandang sebagai salah satu penyair besar dengan kemampuan tinggi dalam membangun estetika bahasa dalam syairnya. Akan tetapi, dalam struktur syair ini terdapat berbagai persoalan berupa perubahan metrum dan adanya variasi nada pada ujung bait yang di sebut uyub/cacat qafiyah. Keberadaan fenomena tersebut menunjukkan bahwa asfek kebahasaan dalam syair klasik tetap memiliki karakteristik yang dapat dikaji secara ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis rima ritme seta efek fonologis dalam syair Imru’ al-Qays melalui kajian arudh qawafi serta fonologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Data penelitian berupa syair lamiyyah yang dianalisis melalui teknik kepustakaan (library research) dengan mengidentifikasi pola bahar, variasi qafiyah serta unsur bunyi yang mempengaruhi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa syair menggunakan pola Bahar Thawil dengan perubahan umum berupa zihaf qabdh dan khabn pada bagian tertentu. Selain itu, pada asfek qafiyah ditemukan penggunaan rawi mutlaq yang konsisten serta adanya bentuk uyub qafiyah berupa itha’ pada beberapa bait. Analisis fonologis menunjukkan bahwa bunyi dalam syair juga berperan sebagai unsur keserasian bunyi akhir dan memperkuat makna melalui karakter bunyi tertentu yang mendukung suasan dan memperkuat makna yang ingin disampaikan penyair. ENGLISH: Imru’ al-Qays is regarded as one of the greatest poets of pre-Islamic Arabic literature, renowned for his exceptional ability to construct linguistic aesthetics in his poetry. Nevertheless, the structure of this poem exhibits several prosodic phenomena, including metrical modifications and variations in end-rhyme patterns known as ‘uyūb al-qāfiyah (rhyme defects). The presence of these phenomena demonstrates that the linguistic features of classical Arabic poetry remain a subject worthy of scholarly investigation. This study aims to analyze the rhyme, rhythm, and phonological effects in Imru’ al-Qays’s lamiyyah through the perspectives of arudh (Arabic prosody), qawafi (rhyme studies), and phonology. Employing a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, this research uses the poem as its primary data source. The data were collected through library research and analyzed by identifying the metrical pattern, rhyme variations, and phonological elements that contribute to the poem’s sound structure. The findings reveal that the poem is composed in Bahar Thawil, with common metrical modifications in the form of ziḥāf qabḍ and khabn occurring in certain positions. In terms of rhyme, the poem consistently employs rawi muṭlaq, while a form of uyub qafiyah, namely itha’, is identified in several verses. Furthermore, the phonological analysis indicates that sound patterns function not only to create harmony in the verse endings but also to reinforce meaning through specific phonetic characteristics that support the atmosphere and thematic messages conveyed by the poet.
