Abstract
Al-Qur'an is one of the most important aspects of the life of Muslims. Ideally, Muslims can recite Al-Qur'an on the sidelines of their activities because recite Al-Qur'an is a highly recommended activity to do every day Al-Qur'an is a tool of communication between Allah and His people. Allah has his own way of conveying His messages through every verse in Al-Qur'an. This research has two main focuses, first to find the Mood Type contained in the translation text of Surah Al-Rahman, second to identify the Speech Role contained in each clause of each verse of the translation text of Surah Al-Rahman. From both focuses of the analysis above, the researcher concluded that out of 78 verses in the translation text of Surah Al-Rahman, there are 86 clauses divided into 50 Declarative Mood clauses, 32 Interrogative Mood clauses, and 4 Imperative Mood clauses. The result of the second problems is not much different. Out of 86 clauses found 53 Give Information speech role clauses, followed by the amount of 32 Demand Information speech role clauses, and 1 Demand Good and Services speech role clause.
