Abstract
Human resources play an important role in organizational success because employees’ quality and work behavior influence the achievement of organizational goals. From an Islamic perspective, work ethic reflects values of faith, trustworthiness, responsibility, discipline, and professionalism in carrying out work. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic leadership style, competence, and organizational culture on the Islamic work ethic of employees at PT. Gerlink Utama Mandiri in Bandung City. Islamic leadership style is a leadership approach based on Islamic values such as trustworthiness, justice, and exemplary behavior (Antonio, 2007). Competence, according to Spencer and Spencer (1993), refers to individual characteristics consisting of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that support performance. Organizational culture, according to Robbins and Judge (2022), is a set of shared values and norms that guide the behavior of organizational members. Meanwhile, Islamic work ethic, according to Tasmara (2002), is a work attitude based on faith, responsibility, discipline, and the belief that working is a form of worship. This study employed a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 66 respondents. The data were analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and the coefficient of determination with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results show that Islamic leadership style does not have a significant effect on Islamic work ethic (regression coefficient = 0.084; sig. = 0.474 > 0.05). In contrast, competence and organizational culture have positive and significant effects on Islamic work ethic, with significance values of 0.003 and 0.025, respectively (<0.05). The findings indicate that competence and organizational culture contribute to improving Islamic work ethic, while Islamic leadership style does not have a significant effect. Organizations are expected to enhance employee competence and strengthen Islamic value-based work culture to create professional and responsible employees.
