Abstract
Fatherless merupakan kondisi ketidakhadiran atau rendahnya keterlibatan sosok ayah yang dapat berkaitan erat dengan perkembangan psikologis, termasuk kemampuan regulasi emosi. Fenomena ini penting dikaji pada mahasiswa yang menghadapi berbagai tuntutan akademik dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh fatherless terhadap regulasi emosi mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan kausalitas. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 251 mahasiswa aktif angkatan 2022–2025 berusia 18–24 tahun yang diperoleh melalui Teknik convenience sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Inventory of Father Involvement (IFI) dan Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale–Short Form (DERS-SF), kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fatherless berpengaruh signifikan terhadap regulasi emosi dengan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (<0,05) dan koefisien regresi sebesar -0,080. Nilai R Square sebesar 0,047 menunjukkan kontribusi sebesar 4,7% regulasi emosi mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi tingkat fatherless atau semakin rendah keterlibatan ayah, semakin rendah kemampuan regulasi emosi mahasiswa. Namun, regulasi emosi juga dipengaruhi faktor lain di luar penelitian.
