Abstract
INDONESIA: Pemahaman konsep merupakan salah satu tujuan penting dalam proses pembelajaran karena memungkinkan peserta didik menghubungkan dan menerapkan pengetahuan dalam berbagai situasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik melalui penerapan model Project Based Learning dengan pendekatan Etno-STREAM pada materi sistem imun melalui proyek pembuatan minuman nanas Subang. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group yang melibatkan kelas XI-7 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI-5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian yang disusun berdasarkan 7 indikator pemahaman konsep, yaitu menafsirkan, memberikan contoh, mengklasifikasikan, merangkum, menarik kesimpulan, membandingkan, dan menjelaskan. Data dianalisis menggunakan skor N-gain berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest, dengan teknik sampling adalah purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep kelas eksperimen memperoleh skor N-gain sebesar 0,75 dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,40 dengan kategori sedang. Indikator dengan peningkatan tertinggi pada kelas eksperimen adalah merangkum, sedangkan peningkatan terendah terdapat pada indikator menjelaskan. Penerapan PjBL dengan pendekatan Etno-STREAM melalui proyek minuman nanas Subang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi sistem imun dan menjadi alternatif pembelajaran biologi berbasis kearifan lokal. ENGLISH: Conceptual understanding is an important goal of learning because it enables students to connect and apply knowledge in various contexts. This study aimed to analyze the improvement of students’ conceptual understanding through the implementation of Project Based Learning with the Ethno-STREAM approach on the immune system topic through a Subang pineapple beverage project. The study employed a quasiexperimental method with a nonequivalent control group design involving class XI-7 as the experimental class and class XI-5 as the control class. The research instrument was an essay test based on 7 conceptual understanding indicators: interpreting, exemplifying, classifying, summarizing, concluding, comparing, and explaining. Data were analyzed using N-gain scores based on pretest and posttest results. The findings showed that the experimental class achieved an N-gain score of 0.75, categorized as high, while the control class achieved 0.40, categorized as moderate. The highest improvement in the experimental class was found in the summarizing indicator, while the lowest was found in the explaining indicator. The implementation of Project Based Learning with the Ethno-STREAM approach through the Subang pineapple beverage project can improve students’ conceptual understanding of the immune system and serve as an alternative biology learning approach integrating local wisdom.
