Abstract
ENGLISH : This study aims to identify the types of conceptual metaphors and analyze how they express affective meaning in the song lyrics of LANY’s soft album (2025). This study employs a descriptive qualitative method using Lakoff and Johnson’s (1980) theory to analyze conceptual metaphors and Leech’s (1981) theory to analyze affective meaning. The data consist of 68 data from ten songs, comprising 40 structural metaphors, 22 ontological metaphors, and 6 orientational metaphors. The findings show that conceptual metaphors represent various abstract experiences, including love, relationships, emotional support, affection, negative emotions, time, life, happiness, hope, and dreams. They also express various affective meanings, such as love, affection, admiration, comfort, longing, commitment, vulnerability, sadness, gratitude, and hope. A secondary classification based on Ekman shows that 62 data can be associated with basic emotions, while 6 data are not directly represented by the six categories. Therefore, conceptual metaphors in the soft album not only represent abstract concepts through concrete experiences but also function as a means of expressing feelings and emotional attitudes indirectly. INDONESIA : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis metafora konseptual dan menganalisis bagaimana metafora tersebut mengekspresikan makna afektif dalam lirik lagu album “Soft” (2025) karya LANY. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teori Lakoff dan Johnson (1980) untuk menganalisis metafora konseptual dan teori Leech (1981) untuk menganalisis makna afektif. Data penelitian terdiri atas 68 data dari sepuluh lagu, yang meliputi 40 metafora struktural, 22 metafora ontologis, dan 6 metafora orientasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metafora konseptual merepresentasikan berbagai pengalaman abstrak, seperti cinta, hubungan, dukungan emosional, kasih sayang, emosi negatif, waktu, kehidupan, kebahagiaan, harapan, dan mimpi. Metafora tersebut juga mengekspresikan berbagai makna afektif, seperti love, affection, admiration, comfort, longing, commitment, vulnerability, sadness, gratitude, dan hope. Klasifikasi tambahan berdasarkan Ekman menunjukkan bahwa 62 data dapat dikaitkan dengan emosi dasar, sedangkan 6 data tidak secara langsung terwakili. Dengan demikian, metafora konseptual dalam album soft tidak hanya merepresentasikan konsep abstrak melalui pengalaman konkret, tetapi juga menjadi sarana untuk menyampaikan perasaan dan sikap emosional secara tidak langsung.
