Abstract
This thesis, focused to see how the connotative meanings used in the lyrics One Ok Rock in Ambitons album. This study to also aims to investigate two research, they are (1) Kind of connotative meaning and (2) the meaning of the words included in the connotative meaning. This research uses the theory of J.N Hook (1975), which categorizes the connotative meaning into positive, neutral or negative and Leech theory (1985) on the semantic and connotative meanings and supported by Finch theory (1998) about the connotative meaning. This study uses qualitative descriptive method. This method has used to describe the data systematically and interpret data on the song in the album titled One Ok Rock Ambitions. This album has 14 songs one of which only contains the instrument as the opening of 13 other songs. The writer first read the lyric and marks are included in the connotative meaning. The results of this research found 32 words included in the connotative meaning and found 17 positive words as connotative meanings, 3 connotative meaning neutral and 10 negative connotative meaning.
