Abstract

ENGLISH: This research is aimed at analyzing deixis in God Must be Crazy Movie script by using Levinson theory. Deixis is derived from the Greek word deiknymi meaning to show, point out. It is used to denote those element in the utterance which for directly to the situation. The study in this paper concerns with the kinds of deixis, the meaning, and the function of deixis itself. This study was analized to investigate deixis based on the formulation of the research problems as follows: (1) What types of deixis used and the meaning pragmatically on The God Must Be Crazy movie script? (2) What is the function of the deixis form found in The God Must Be Crazy movie script? The purposes of this study were to : (1) Identifying the types of deixis used in The God Must Be Crazy movie scripts. (2) Finding out the function of deixis in The God Must Be Crazy movie scripts. In this research the writer uses descriptive analysis technique, and data source is movie script of the movie God Must Be Crazy. The research finding showed that: (1) there are five kinds of deixis, namely personal deixis (first person, second persond, and third person), spatial deixis, temporal deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. (2) due to the fact that deixis is important to indicate impermanent reerences, english learner should enrich themselves by understanding the function of deixis, the types of deixis and how deixis are used in an utterance. The researcher suggest for the next researcher to use the other part such as advertisment and novel. Finally, the researcher hopes this research will be useful to sharpen the reader in understanding deixis in Pragmatic INDONESIA: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengsnalisis deiksis dalam naskah film God Must be Carzy karya Derek Kolstad menggunakan teori Levinson. Kata deiksis berasal dari bahasa yunanai yaitu deikyumi yang mempunyai arti memamerkan, menunjukan. Hal itu digunakan untuk menunjukkan elemen dalam sebuah ucapan secara langsung. Penelitian ini berfokus pada macam macam dari deixis, arti, dan fungsi dari deiksis itu sendiri. Penelitian ini menganalisis deiksis pada perumusan masalah penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) apa tipe atau jenis dari deiksis yang digunakan dan arti secara pragmatic dalam naskah film God Must Be Crazy? (2) Apa fungsi dari deixsis yang ditemukan dalam naskah film God Must Be Crazy? Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi jenis –jenis deiksis yang digunakan dalam naskah film God Must Be Crazy. (2) menenukan fungsi dari deiksis dalam naskah film God Must Be Crazy. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan tehnik deskriptif, sumber data adalah naskah film God Must Be Crazy. Penelitian menghasilkan bahwa: (1) ada 5 jenis deiksis dalam naskah film God Must Be Crazy, yaitu deiksis orang( orang pertama, orang kedua, dan orang ketiga), deiksis tempat, deiksis waktu, discourse deiksis, dan social deiksis. (2) sehubungan dengan fakta bahwa deiksis penting untuk mengindikasikan referensi yang tidak tetap, mahasiswa harus mengmbangkan pengetahuan dengan memahami fungsi deiksis, jenis jenis deiksis dan bagaimana deiksis digunakan dalam sebuah ucapan. Peneliti menyarankan untuk penelitian selanjutnya agar menggunakan objek lain seperti iklan dan novel. Ahirnya, peneliti berharap penelitian ini akan berguna untuk mengasah pembaca dalam memahami deiksis dalam prakmatik.
