Abstract
INDONESIA Akuaponik merupakan teknologi gabungan antara akuakultur dan hidroponik yang bertujuan untuk memelihara ikan dan tanaman dengan memanfaatkan sistem resirkulasi. Limbah yang dihasilkan ikan seperti sisa pakan dan sisa metabolisme (feses) digunakan sebagai pupuk bagi tanaman. Kemudian air yang dialirkan dari media pemeliharaan dibersihkan oleh tanaman sehingga dapat digunakan kembali oleh ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman selada merah secara akuaponik. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April hingga Juni yang bertempat di kebun percobaan Universitas Padjajaran Jatinangor. Percobaan terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan sembilan ulangan, media tanam arang sekam (A), media tanam zeolit (B), dan media tanam cocopeat (C). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan jenis media tanam arang sekam dan zeolit memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan berupa jumlah daun, berat segar dan berat kering dibandingkan dengan pertumbuhan tanaman pada media cocopeat. Tanaman selada merah yang menggunakan media tanam zeolit menunjukan hasil terbaik dibandingkan media tanam yang lain. ENGLISH Aquaponic is a combine technology between aquaculture and hydroponics that aims to rearing fish and plants by utilizing recirculation systems. Waste produced by fish such as food waste and metabolic waste (feces) is used as fertilizer for the plants the-water flowed from the media culture will be filtered by the plants so that it could be reused by fish. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of substrate on the growth and yield of red lettuce in aquaponics. The study was conducted in April to June at Universitas Padjadjaran Jatinangor. The experiment consists of 3 treatments and nine replications, A treatment using rice husk charcoal, B treatment using zeolite, and C treatment using cocopeat. The results showed that the use of rice husk charcoal and zeolite substrate significantly affects the growth parameters such as amount of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight compared to the plants grown in cocopeat media. The red lettuce using zeolite as planting medium showed that higher growth of plant compared to plants with other types of substrate medium.
