Abstract

Stylistic is the study of language style. Stylistic is part of linguistic science which focuses on variations in language use. Stylistic means the study of style, giving a suggestion a science, at least is a methodical study. This paper aims to analyze the styles of the Greatest Hits album of Blink-182 and moral values of the Greatest Hits album of Blink-182. This research is supported by some theories. They are poetry; the structure of poetry which consists of the nature of poetry, the method of writing poetry;song and the relationship between poetry and song. The research employes descriptive qualitative method by using analysis of the style of lyrics. The data are obtained from the original cassette of Blink-182 album Greatest Hits, and some summary, from electronic book, and printed book. The researcher uses stylistic approach. This approach is the middle of the study of linguistic and literature. The researcher wants to analyze of lyrics as poetry with several aspect, such as finding the grammatically of lyrics, finding the tone of lyrics, rhythm and rhyme on lyrics. Finally the researcher takes the conclusion that stylistic analysis finding the style of the song lyrics, and that can be easier to analyze another aspect such as message, figurative language, rhythm and rhyme.
