Abstract

ENGLISH Cassava processing into bioethanol generate considerable waste. Currently bioethanol waste used as animal feed, but the nutritional content is still low. To improve waste nutrients carried by fermentation. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of urea and sulfur in solid waste bioethanol fermented EM-4 to protein and crude fiber. Research by using the experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) 3 × 3 factorial design with three replications. The first factor supplementation in the form of Urea (N1 = 0%, N2 = 1.5%, N3 = 3%) and the second factor, supplementation sulfur (S1 = 0%, S2 = 0.02%, S3 = 0.04% ). Based on the research results, the addition of 3% urea and 0.04% sulfur can increase the protein content from 2.25% to 14.44% and lower crude fiber content of 16.57% to 6.97% after fermentation for 4 days. Analysis of variance showed that the addition of urea and sulfur in solid waste bioethanol fermented EM-4 indicated interaction at protein, but not on the raw fiber. The addition of 3% urea and 0.04% sulfur was significantly different to the crude protein content (P <0.05) and crude fiber content (P <0.05). The results showed that the addition of 3% urea and sulfur 0.04% provide optimal result.
