Abstract

INDONESIA Dalam penelitian ini telah berhasil disintesis nanopartikel kalsium oksida (CaO) dari cangkang telur yang ditumbuk menggunakan ball milling kemudian dikalsinasi dengan suhu 700℃ selama 7 jam. Dilakukan karakterisasi SEM unruk mengetahui morpologi dan ukuran partikel cangkang telur pada beberapa variasi penumbukan(2 jam, 6 jam, 10 jam dan 20 jam) dan cangkang telur yang sudah dikalsinasi pada variasi penumbukan(2 jam, 10 jam dan 20 jam). Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ukuran partikel yang paling kecil yaitu pada variasi waktu penumbukan 20 jam dengan distribusi ukuran partikel kalsium karbonat 970 nm dan ukuran partikel sesudah dikalsinasi menjadi kalsium oksida sebesar 394 nm. Pengujian struktur kristal dan puncak-puncak yang muncul ketika dikarakterisasi XRD pada cangkang telur menunjukan fasa kalsium oksida, kalsium hidroksida dan kalsium karbonat dengan struktur cubik, hexagonal dan rhombohedral. ENGLISH In this research has been successfully synthesized nanoparticles of calcium oxide (CaO) of crushed egg shells using ball milling and then calcined at a temperature of 700 ℃ for 7 hours. SEM characterization unruk know the morphology and particle size of eggshell on some variation of comminution (2 hours, 6 hours, 10 hours and 20 hours) and an eggshell that has been calcined at variations pulverization (2 hours, 10 hours and 20 hours). This research shows that the size of the smallest particle that is at the time variations pulverization 20 hours with calcium carbonate particle size distribution and particle size of 970 nm after calcined into calcium oxide at 394 nm. Testing the structure of crystals and peaks that appear when characterized XRD on eggshells indicates the phase of calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate with cubic structure, hexagonal and rhombohedral.
