Abstract

INDONESIA: Bahasa kiasan sering digunakan oleh orang-orang didunia. Bahasa kiasan digunakan dalam lirik lagu. Yang mempunyai tujuan untuk menciptakan beberapa efek yang bisa membuat lagu menarik. Penelitian ini fokus untuk menemukan: 1) Apa tipe-tipe bahasa kiasan yang ditemukan dari beberapa lirik lagu Adele album “25” yang terpilih?; 2) Apa makna kontekstual bahasa kiasan yang ada dalam lirik lagu Adele album “25”?. Teori yang mendasari penelitian ini adalah teori Cruse makna kontekstual. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data adalah lirik lagu Adele album “25” yang terdiri atas: Hello, Send My Love, I Miss You, Remedy, River Lea, Sweetest Devotion, When We were Young. Berdasarkan data analisis, hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada empat tipe bahasa kiasan yang ditemukan dalam tujuh lirik lagu, seperti: metapor (17), hiperbola (17), eupemisme (4) dan simile (6). Tipe bahasa kiasan menunujukkan bahwa makna kontekstual menjelaskan tentang harapan seseorang dalam mempertahankan hubungan cinta, dan kepercayaan seseorang pada kekuatan cinta tetap tumbuh walaupun pengkhianatan cinta terjadi. ENGLISH: Figurative language is often used by people in song lyric, it has the purpose for creating some effects which can make the song interesting. This study focuses on finding out: 1) what are the types of figurative language found in the selected song lyrics by Adele album “25”? 2) what are the contextual meaning of the figurative language in the song lyrics by Adele album “25”? The theory that underlies this research is Cruse’s theory of contextual meaning. The method of analysis used is descriptive qualitative method. The data is song lyrics from Adele album “25” consisting of: Hello, Send My Love, I Miss You, Remedy, River Lea, Sweetest Devotion, When We were Young. Based on the data analysis, the result shows that there are four types of figurative languages found in seven song lyrics, such as: metaphor (17), hyperbole (17), euphemism (4), and simile (6). These kinds of figurative languages shows that the contextual meaning explain about someone’s expectation in holding on love relationship, and someone’s believe on the power of love still growing up no matter a treason of love happened.
