Abstract

INDONESIA Cerita Pendek adalah salah satu henis karya sastra yang memiliki banyak ciri-ciri untuk di pelajari. Penelitian ini berfokuskan pada Syntactic study yang berfokuskan pada kalimat-kalimat yang terdapat pada cerita pendek Aladdin yang di dalamnya terdapat masalah-masalah: tipe-tipe phrase sebagai pelengkap subjek dan hubungan dominasi phrase dengan isi di cerita pendek yang bertopikan Aladdin. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tiga cerita pendek. Dalam pengumpulan data, penulis melakukan beberapa langkah, mencari data, mengidentifikasi cerita pendek Aladdin dan menganalisa kalimat dan kemudian data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan beberapa teori yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini, salah satunya yaitu teori Chomsky yang menjadi teori utama yang digunakan dalam mengalisis data. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat jenis phrase di ketiga cerita pendek yang bertopikan Aladdin: 37 kalimat terdapat noun phrase, 33 kalimat terdapat adjective phrases, 3 kalimat terdapat adverb phrases, and 8 kalimat terdapat prepositional phrase. Selain jenis phrase sebebagai pelengkap subjek, peneliti menganalisis hubungan antara dominasi phrase sebagai pelangkap subjek dan isi pada cerita pendek yang bertopikan Aladdin. Pada cerita pendek pertama dan kedua, dominasi phrase adalah noun phrase, hubungan dengan dominasi phrase sebagai pelengkap subjek dan isi adalah cerita ini menceritakan tentang perjalanan yang di dalam nya terdapat banyak orang, benda yang di tampilkan di cerita tersebut. Pada cerita ketiga, dominasi phrase pada cerita ini adalah adjective phrase. Hubungan antara dominasi phrase dan phrase adalah cerita ini menceritakan tentang petualangan yang di dalamnya terdapat karakter atau sifat yang berbeda. ENGLISH Short story is one genre of literary works that has many features to study. This research focuses on syntactic study of sentences in Aladdin short story which is guided by the following problems: Types of phrase as subject complement and the relation between dominating phrases as subject complement and content in the short story of Aladdin’s topic. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from three short stories. In collecting data, the researcher did some steps: searching the data, identifying the sentence and then the data were analyzed by using some theories which supported the object of the research. Chomsky’s theory as the grand theory is used to analyze the data. The discussion concludes that there are many phrases found in the three short stories of Aladdin’s topic: 37 sentences consist of noun phrase, 33 sentences consist of adjective phrases, 3 sentences consist of adverb phrases, and 8 sentences consist of prepositional phrase. Beside finding the types of phrase as subject complement the researcher also analyze the relation between dominating phrases as subject complement and the content in short story of Aladdin’s topic. In the first and second short stories, the dominating phrase is noun phrase, the relation between dominating phrase as subject complement and content are the story tells about adventure that has many people, thing that showed in the story. In the third short story, the dominating phrase as subject complement is adjective phrase. The relation with the content is the story tells about adventure that has many different characteristic.
