Abstract

Song is something close with human life in the world; children, teenager and man, they listen to the music or song every day or some time. However the influence of song, in basically song is a literary work, which it is poetry genre and it sung and composed together with music melody. A song is supported by lyric and music, and hence the composer can enjoy a separate satisfaction. Not only the composer, but also other can feel and enjoy the song and the lyrics in accompanying music to come to the perception. Song lyric it usually show the imagination which stimulate our sense to feel more real and life what the writer purposed. It is like in poem; lyric or texts stimulate our sense to feel, see, hear, smell, and taste, then in poetry criticism that called imagery. As a literary work, song lyric of Michael Jackson in Dangerous album show imagery which can stimulate sense of human to feel the imagery like real and live. Base on the background above the researcher focused into two problems: (1) what are kind images in Michael jackson's song lyric in dangerous album; and (2) what is the imagery meaning rather metaphorical and symbolical meaning in Michael Jackson's song lyric in Dangerous album? In answering those two problems above, the writer uses a descriptive analysis whit the intrinsic structural method, to describe and to analyze the data that are taken form the song lyric itself. In analyzing, whole of data are analyzed and put into classification related to the theme that is available in the song lyric then it needs identifying, classifying, interpreting data, and finding conclusion. The writer rearches the imagery are consist in song lyric and put them into imagery classification or criteria. Then after the imagery are classified into imagery type then the researcher finding the imagery meaning both metaphorical and symbolical meaning. The metaphorical and symbolical meaning. The metaphorical and symbolical meaning they are have any criteria or classification; that word or phrase which are fulfill the criteria of the metaphor and symbolical type. All imagery what found by researcher in Michael Jackson's song lyric in dangerous album base on the line and each stanza, which they are classified into five type such as visual, aural, tactile, olfactory and gustatory. The imagery are classified into imagery type then they entered into imagery meaning categories these are symbolical and metaphorical meaning which it commonly dominated by issue of racism, discrimination, united of nation, and peace. In this research the writer found the fact of imagery meaning is not always whole of imagery have a metaphorical and symbolical meaning. Because in the chapter analysis all of imagery that had classified into imagery classification, some of them not passed into metaphorical and symbolical meaning classification.
