Abstract

INDONESIA : Penelitian menjelaskan ekspresi idiomatik karena kebanyakan dari ekspresi idiomatik benar-benar digunakan dalam percakapan sehari-hari meskipun memiliki makna kiasan. Tindak tutur juga dipelajari untuk mempelajari bagaimana orang-orang hidup dengan ujaran. Keduanya berguna untuk belajar tentang bahasa yang digunakan, ekspresi idiomatik sebagai komunikasi verbal dan tindak tutur di belakangnya sebagai intensi yang tidak diungkapkan. Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian sebagaimana penelitian ini yang cenderung mengandalkan penjabaran ekspresif dan deskripsi pribadi terhadap permasalahan terkait. Pada umumnya ada dua teori tindak tutur sebagai kerangka teoritis utama, pertama adalah dari Searle dan Austin sebagai oposisinya. Dalam mempelajari ekspresi idiomatik, peneliti mengandalkan Rahimi dan Zarei sebagai referensi teoritis. Hasil untuk ekspresi idiomatik adalah terdapat 217 data yang terdapat dalam film yang didominasi phrasal verb dengan (82 data/37,78%) diikuti oleh phrasal compound (46 data/21,19%), verb+object/complement (and or adverbial) (26 data/11,98%), prepositional phrase (23 data/10,59%), whole clause or sentence (15 data/6,91%), smile (8 data/3,68%), identifiable idiom (6 data/2,76%), compound (3 data/1,38%), idioms of ‘institutionalized hyperbole’ (3 data/1,38%), binominal (1 data/0,46%), idioms of ‘institutionalized understatement’ '(1 data/0,46%), incorporating verb (1 data/0,46%), irreversible binomial (1 data/0,46%), dan turns of phrase (1 data/0,46%). Hasil dalam hal jenis tindak tutur, representative mendominasi dengan (116 data/50,65%) diikuti oleh directive (75 data/32,75%), commissive (19 data/8,29%), expressive (14 data/6 , 11%), dan declarative dengan (5 data/2,18%). Dapat dikalkulasikan bahwa ada 229 tindak tutur dalam film berdasarkan ungkapan idiomatik. Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa phrasal verb merupakan ekspresi idiomatik yang paling dikenal dalam film dengan tindak tutur representative yang juga mendominasi karena film secara representatif menggambarkan hal-hal melalui kata-kata/ujaran. ENGLISH: The research points out idiomatic expression since most of them are in essence used in daily conversation though it has figurative meaning. Speech act is gone through either to learn about how people live with utterances. Both are useful to learn about language in use, idiomatic expression as verbal communication and speech act behind it as unverbalized intention. Qualitative method is used in the research as the research which tends to rely on expressive elaboration and personal description towards the issue. There are two theories of speech act in the main as the main theoretical framework, first is Searle and Austin as the opposite. For going through idiomatic expression, the researcher counts on Rahimi and Zarei as the theoretical reference. The result for idiomatic expression is there are 217 data found in the movie dominated by phrasal verb with (82 data/37,78%) followed by phrasal compound (46 data/21,19%), verb+object/complement (and or adverbial) (26 data/11,98%), prepositional phrase (23 data/10,59%), whole clause or sentence (15 data/6,91%), smile (8 data/3,68%), identifiable idiom (6 data/2,76%), compound (3 data/1,38%), idioms of ‘institutionalized hyperbole’ (3 data/1,38%), binominal (1 data/0,46%), idioms of ‘institutionalized understatement’ (1 data/0,46%), incorporating verb (1 data/0,46%), irreversible binomial (1 data/0,46%), and turns of phrase (1 data/0,46%). The result in terms of types of speech act, representative dominates with (116 data/50,65%) followed by directive (75 data/32,75%), commissive (19 data/8,29%), expressive (14 data/6,11%), and declarative with (5 data/2,18%). Those can be calculated that there are 229 speech acts in the movie based on idiomatic expression. The conclusion is that phrasal verb is the most familiar idiomatic expression in the movie with representative speech act that dominates either because the movie representatively represents things via words/utterances.
