Abstract

INDONESIA : Penelitian tentang Hermetia illucens telah banyak dilakukan, dimana potensi H. illucens yaitu mampu menguraikan limbah organik sehingga berkontribusi terhadap masalah lingkungan. Pada fase preimaginal, larva H. illucens memiliki kandungan lemak dan protein tinggi sehingga dapat berpotensi sebagai pakan ternak. Kualitas dan komposisi media pertumbuhan sangat berpengaruh terhadap kualitas larva maupun dewasa dari H. illucens. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, reproduksi, serta menganalisis kandungan nutrisi yang terdapat pada larva dan prepupa H. illucens yang dipelihara di media dengan komposisi yang berbeda. Media yang digunakan yaitu limbah ampas tahu, buah-buahan (pisang, pepaya, alpukat, dan mangga), serta pakan ayam sebagai kontrol, sehingga terdapat empat perlakuan, yaitu pakan ayam (kontrol), 25% ampas tahu + 75% buah, 50% ampas tahu + 50% buah, dan 75% ampas tahu + 25% buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan AB 3 : 1 (75% ampas tahu + 25% buah) merupakan perlakuan terbaik pada pertumbuhan (dengan panjang akhir 19,41 mm dan berat 148,71 mg/ekor), mortalitas sebesar 11%, hasil proksimat protein sebesar 48,32% dan lemak 15,36%, serta nilai fekunditas sebesar 283,50 butir. Rasio jantan dan betina dari seluruh perlakuan yaitu 1:1. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah komposisi media 75% ampas tahu + 25% buah merupakan media terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan larva H. illucens. ENGLISH : Research on Hermetia illucens has been conducted, where the potential of H. illucens is able to decompose organic waste so that it contributes to environmental problems. In the preimaginal phase, H. illucens larvae have high fat and protein content so that they can have potential as animal feed. The quality and composition of growth media greatly effect the quality of larvae and adults of H. illucens. This study aims to measure growth and development, reproduction, and analyze the nutrient content found in H. illucens larvae and prepupae which are maintained in media with different compositions. The media used were tofu dreg, fruits (banana, papaya, avocado, and mango), and chicken feed as a control, so that there were four treatments, namely chicken feed (control), 25% tofu dreg + 75% fruit, 50% tofu dreg + 50% fruit, and 75% tofu dreg + 25% fruit. The results showed that the treatment of AB 3: 1 (75% tofu dreg + 25% fruit) was the best treatment for growth (with a final length of 19.41 mm and weight 148.71 mg / head), mortality was 11%, proximate results of protein amounting to 48.32% and fat of 15.36%, and the value of fecundity of 283.50 items. The ratio of males and females from all treatments is 1: 1. The conclusion of this study is the media composition of 75% tofu dreg + 25% fruit is the best medium for growth and development of H. illucens larvae.
