Abstract

ENGLISH In daily life there are two types of languages that are often used, namely; formal and informal languages, both of them can be used for communication with others. Formal language is situation follows certain rules of etiquette and protocol. The informal one is casual situation and used more often in daily conversations with friends, sibling, relatives, or parents. Informal language includes abbreviations, idioms, and slang. Slang language is very informal expression which more common in spoken language. In this paper, the researcher discusses about analysis of slang language in the Happy Death Day 2017 movie. The resercher used slang theory by Fromkin & Rodman, etc. The purpose of this study is to find out the types and the function of the slang language that is used by actor or actress in the movie. The researcher focuses the study on the Happy Death Day 2017 movie, produced by Blumhouse Produtions. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method, where she describes on by one word or phrase of slang language from Happy Death Day 2017 movie. From the analysis, the researcher found two types of slang, there are: society slang, and church slang. And Ttypes the funcition of the slang used in Happy Dath Day 2017 movie are: Pursuit self -idintity, and Emotive feeling of the slang user. from the Happy Death Day 207 movie. INDONESIA Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari ada dua tipe bahasa yang sering digunakan, yaitu; Bahasa formal dan informal, keduanya dapat digunakan untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Bahasa formla adalah situasi mengikuti aturan tatacara dan protokol tertentu. Informal adalah situasi biasa dan lebih sering digunakan dalam percakapan sehari-hari dengan teman, saudara, kerabat, atau orang tua. Bahasa informal meliputi singkatan, idiom, dan slang. Bahasa gaul adalah ungkapan yang sangat informal yang lebih umum dalam bahasa lisan. Dalam tulisan ini, peneliti membahas tentang analisis bahasa slang dalam film Happy Death Day 2017. Peneliti menggunakan teori slang oleh Fromkin & Rodman, dll. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis dan fungsi bahasa slang yang digunakan oleh aktor atau aktris dalam film. Peneliti memfokuskan studi pada film Happy Death Day 2017, yang diproduksi oleh Blumhouse Produtions. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, di mana ia menggambarkan dengan satu kata atau frase bahasa slang dari film Happy Death Day 2017. Dari analisisnya, peneliti menemukan dua jenis bahasa gaul, yaitu: bahasa gaul masyarakat, dan bahasa gaul gereja. Dan Ttypes fungsi slang yang digunakan dalam film Happy Dath Day 2017 adalah: Pursuit self -idintity, dan Emotive feeling dari pengguna slang. dari film Happy Death Day 207.
