Abstract

INDONESIA: Pada era modern ini akses informasi sangatlah dibutukan, untuk dapat mengakses informasi pada jaringan komputer dalam kawasan satu gedung atau kawasan yang jaraknya tidak lebih dari 1 km dibutuhkan jaringan Local Area Network (LAN) yang terhubung dengan internet. Dalam pengelolaan sebuah jaringan dibutuhkan sistem monitoring beserta system alert (sistem kewaspadaan) yang dapat digunakan untuk mengawasi jaringan dan juga sistem yang bisa melaporkan keadaan jaringan. Software The Dude digunakan untuk memonitoring jaringan LAN mencangkup service pada setiap Client dan memberikan peringatan pada setiap perubahan statusnya. Berkaitan dengan sistem monitoring ini admininstrator jaringan dalam memonitoring sebuah jaringan sangat memerlukan system alert yang bisa melaporkan dari luar area monitoring. Teknologi yang sangat memungkinkan adalah email. Teknologi email ini disetting pada software The Dude sebagai gateway untuk system alert dengan menggunakan protokol SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) yang berfungsi sebagai jaringan alternatif penghantar pesan untuk menginformasikan jika ada troubleshoot atau aktivitas lainnya seperti penurunan banwidth yang bisa menyebabkan terputusnya koneksi dari client ke server. ENGLISH: In this modern era of information access is very important, to be able to access information on computer networks within the area of a building or area that is not more than 1 km required Local Area Network (LAN) network connected to the internet. In the management of a network monitoring system is required along with the system alert (alert system) that can be used to supervise the network and system that can report the state of the network. The Dude software is used to monitor the LAN network covers the services of each Client and warns of any change in status. In connection with this monitoring system, network administrators in monitoring a network require system alerts that can report from outside the monitoring area. A highly enabling technology is email. This email technology is set in the Dude software as a gateway for system alerts by using the SMTP protocol (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) which serves as an alternative network of messengers to inform if there is any troubleshoot or other activities such as a decrease in bandwidth which can lead to disconnection from client to server.
