Abstract

INDONESIA : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mencari tahu jenis dan fungsi colloquialism yang ada di lirik lagu Nicki Minaj. Antoine (2000: iv) menulis, “Colloquialism itu diambil untuk menjadi kata-kata. Kata ini biasa digunakan dalam bahasa lisan dan informal daripada bahasa tertulis atau lebih tepatnya, kata yang dipakai secara spontan dalam percakapan sehari-hari, tetapi lebih banyak disampaikan di acara-acara semi-resmi. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis ini memanfaatkan secara kualitatif penelitian deskriptif . Penelitian kualitatif bekerja dengan alat desain cenderung relatif dengan kasus yang minim. “Dalam arti lain, peneliti kualitatif siap untuk mengorbankan cakupan untuk detail. Untuk peneliti kualitatif, tepat detail ini ditemukan dalam khusus dari hal-hal yang menyangkut interaksi dengan orang-orang”. (Silverman, David & Marvasti, Amir. 2008: 14). Data dari hasil penelitian tersebut diambil dari lirik lagu Nicki Minaj, album Pink Friday dan Pink Print yang mengandung percakapan colloquial. Untuk menyoroti persoalan ini, penelitian diringkas menjadi dua pertanyaan: (1) Apa jenis colloquialism dalam lirik lagu Nicki Minaj? (2) Apa fungsi colloquialism yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu Nicki Minaj? Hasil penelitian ini adalah jenis dan fungsi colloquialism dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Pertama, terdapat jenis colloquialism yang ditemukan dari lirik lagu dua album Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday dan Pink Print, yaitu: 1) Colloquial 2) Frase Colloquial 3) Klausa. Dari penelitian ini, peneliti bisa menyimpulkan bahwa kata sehari-hari adalah sebagai colloquial. Kedua, riset adalah fungsi colloquialism lain sebagai bahasa informal. Ada tiga penemuan yang terdapat di sini, selera masyarakat, mengungkapkan rasa humor, dan menyembunyikan arti. Selera masyarakat adalah yang paling ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. This research was conducted to find out the the type of colloquialism and to recognize functions of colloquialism in Nicki Minaj’s Song lyrics. Antoine (2000: iv) writes, “Colloquialisms are taken to be words. Commonly used in spoken language and in informal written language or; more precisely, words used spontaneously in everyday speech or even writing, but eschewed on more formal occasions”. In this research, the writer utilizes a qualitative descriptive research. “Qualitative research designs tend to work with a relatively small number of cases. Generally speaking, qualitative researchers are prepared to sacrifice scope for detail. For qualitative researchers, detail is found in the precise particulars of such matters as people’s understandings and interactions” (Silverman, David & Marvasti, Amir. 2008: 14). The data of this research were taken from the Nicki Minaj Song lyrics of Pink Print and Pink Friday albums which contain colloquial expressions. To focus on the problem, this research is summarized into two questions: (1) What is the type of colloquialism in Nicki Minaj’ song lyrics? (2) What are the functions of colloquialism in Nicki Minaj’s Song lyrics? The results of this research are types and functions of colloquialism in Nicki Minaj’s song lyrics. First, there are types of colloqiialism found from the Lyrics of Nicky Minaj two Albums: Pink Friday and Pink Print, they are: 1)Word colloquial 2) Phrase colloquial diction 3) Clause colloquial diction. From those, the researcher mostly found word colloquial as the type of colloquial. Secondly, another research is functions of colloquialism as informal language. These are found three such as, sense of community, revealing sense of humor, and hiding the meaning. Sense of community is the most discovered function in Nicki Minaj’s two albums.
