Abstract

INDONESIA : Novel adalah jenis prosa yang mengandung unsur karakter, plot, pengaturan imajiner menyebarkan kehidupan manusia atas dasar sudut pandang penulis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis teknik narasi dan struktur naratif tentang novel Dear John oleh teori Gerard Genette tentang narratologi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data telah dianalisis dengan mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, menafsirkan dan menggambarkan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 47 data pada Struktur Narasi dan teknik narasidalam novel dear john. Ada 7 data order, 5 Data mood, 3 data Voice, 17 Data Internal Focalization dan 16 data Plot pada novel. Dalam kesimpulan, Mood adalah aspek yang paling mendominasi dalam analisis teknik narasi, didukung oleh Internal Focalization dan aspek plot yang dibangun dari struktur naratif. Adapun saran bagi peneliti pada subjek yang sama untuk melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut sehingga dapat dimengerti dan juga dapat memberikan informasi yang akurat tentang bagaimana menganalisis struktur narasi dalam novel. ENGLISH : Novel is a kind of prose that contains elements of character, plot, setting imaginary deploying human life on the basis of the author's perspective. The purpose of this research is to analyze the narrativetechnique and narrative structure on Dear John Novelby Gerard Genette’s theory of narratology.This present study has utilized qualitative desciptive. Data have been annalyzed by identifying, classifying, interpreting and drawing conlusion.The result of study showed that 47 data on Narrative Structure and Narrative Technique of the novel Dear John. There are 7 order data, 5 mood data, 3 voice data,17internal focalization data, and 16 plot data on the novel. In conclusion of Dear John novel, mood is the most dominating aspect in the analysis of the narrative technique, supported by the internal focalization and the plot aspect that constructed of the narative structure. As for suggestion of the research on the same subject in order to take more deeply, so it can be understood and also can provide accurate information on how to analyze the structure of the narrative in the novel.
