Abstract
This research is motivated by the findings of the problems found in the Thematic Learning subjects in class IV of MI An-Najah Cicalengka that the students' cognitive learning outcomes are lacking. This is caused by several factors, including the use of inappropriate learning models. To overcome these problems, an Open Ended Learning learning model is applied to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in thematic learning. This study aims to find out (1) cognitive learning outcomes of students in thematic learning before using cooperative learning learning models open ended learning types. (2) the learning process by applying cooperative learning learning model of open ended learning in thematic learning subjects in class IV of MI An-Najah Cicalengka in each cycle, (3) cognitive learning outcomes of students in thematic learning after using open type cooperative learning learning models ended learning in each cycle. This research is based on the idea that students' cognitive learning outcomes can be increased which is influenced by several factors, including the use of appropriate learning models, namely open ended learning learning models. So that researchers propose the hypothesis of action that the level of open ended learning learning model is thought to be able to improve cognitive learning outcomes of students in thematic learning subjects in class IV MI An-Najah. This study uses classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages repeatedly, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The instruments used in this study were syllabus, lesson plans, and observation sheets. The data collection techniques are carried out by observation and essay test. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the cognitive learning outcomes of students before using the open ended learning learning model were lacking with students' cognitive learning outcomes reaching an average value of 33.93% (less). Thematic learning process using open ended learning models increased in each cycle with the results of cyclical I teacher activity 81.65%, cycle II 97.05%. The activities of the first cycle students were 72.71%, the second cycle was 81.63%. Cognitive learning outcomes of students in thematic learning using the open ended learning learning model on the Thematic Learning subject theme My goal in class IV of MI An-Najah Cicalengka in each cycle showed an increase. In the first cycle obtained an average value of 61.52, the second cycle the average value of students was 82.39.
