Abstract
Language is the most important thing for human being in everyday life. Absolutely language is always used in every human activity and to communicate each other. The speakers must deliver their utterance well so there is no misterpretation between the speakers and the hearers. The presence of the presuposition is not only in daily life is conversation but also in the conversation in a movie. Moreover the researcher is interested in analyzing the presupposition which is used by Anna and Declac’s Utterance in Leap Year movie. In addition this research tries to analyse the purpose of the presupposition utterances of the main characters. This research uses Hatch’s theory (2002) in descriptive qualitative methode ; descriptive qualitative is the method is used to analysis a research by complex and detail narrative. The data are the scripts from Leap Year Movie. The research collected the data after watching movie and reading a scrift. In analyze by the data, the researcher uses Yule (1996) and Searle’s theory (1979) about the classification of presuposition and types of utterances. Then, the data were analyzed and classified based on presupositin theory. The finding shows the following results: 24 utterances are existential presupposition, 7 utterances are factive presupposition, 5 utterances are non factive presupposition, 6 utterances indicate lexical presupposition and there are only 7 utterances are counterfactual presupposition. Furthermore, 16 utterances are directives, 19 utterances are expressive, 4 utterances are representatives, and 10 utterances indicate commissive. The most dominant is the existential presupposition and expressive utterances which are found in Leap Year movie and scrift.
