Abstract

The research intends to achieve the following objectives: (1) To reveal students’ vocabulary skill before implementing cartoon movie (2) to find out students vocabulary skill after implementing cartoon movie (3) to reveal how is significance the improvement of cartoon movie in students’ vocabulary mastery. The research was conducted in SMPN 02 TAMANSARI BOGOR. It took 30 students to be the sample. The researcher used a quasi-experimental method by looking the result through pre-test and post-test. After the pre-test was conducted, the researcher gave treatments. After that, they were processing post-test by watching cartoon movie Dora the explorer. Both pre-test and post-test assignments for students are writing 30 vocabularies. The result of analysis for students’ vocabulary mastery can be drawn that the mean score of pre-test is 55.17 and the mean score of post-test is 75.67. It means that the students’ vocabulary mastery in post-test is better than that of the pre-test. In other words, the students who were taught by using Dora the explorer cartoon Movies get improvement on their vocabulary mastery. So H1 is accepted because taccount>ttable. Therefore, it is recommended that Cartoon Movies can be used as an alternative teaching media to develop students’ vocabulary mastery. From the counting is obtained that t count = 33.06and t table= 2.41, so the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore there is significances influence of used cartoon movie as media teaching vocabulary.
