Abstract

ENGLISH For the most part, social and political issues have always been interesting for some people even though the scientist from another field. The essential relationship between the life of society and literary creation is not concerned with the content of these two sectors of human reality, but only with the mental structures, with what might be called the categories which shape both the empirical consciousness of a certain social group and the imaginary universe created by the writer. This novel has some issues about politics and propaganda. Which is the propaganda creates the situation of this novel more complicated and it can affects the political situation in the novel and makes it full of political war. The collaboration between literature and politics in Dan Brown’s Deception Point making this novel popular among readers. The relationship between politics and literary raises the collapse of the United States since of two characters struggling for a position in the presidential election. The author uses the theory of structuralism to run this research. The technique of collecting data in this research is done in several steps. First, the writer writes the theory of translation of various sources, books, internet, etc. second, read repeatedly and thoroughly the whole part of the novel in order to gain comprehensive understanding, and reading repeatedly and thoroughly another source which support the research. Third, investigating the data appropriately with an approach, method and theory that have been determined and constructing conclusion and suggestion for the result of research. From research on structure, it can be concluded that the genre found in this novel that makes it popular is the mystery genre. The conclusions of this study are: the elements contained in the novel entitled Dan Brown's Deception Point which include: 1. The structure of the story in the novel which includes introduction (meet the character), body of story (conclusion) (structure mystery is solved). 2. Common pattern of mystery in popular literature which includes: a. Pattern of the story, b. setting and situation, c. structure of narration, d. stereotype of heroes, e. stereotype of enemy. What makes a novel that contains politics struggles in bringing it to a mystery and this novel can be enjoyed by readers because it is a popular literature. INDONESIA Abstrak Sebagian besar, masalah sosial dan politik selalu menarik bagi sebagian orang meskipun ilmuwan dari bidang lain. Hubungan penting antara kehidupan masyarakat dan penciptaan sastra tidak berkaitan dengan isi dari dua sektor realitas manusia ini, tetapi hanya dengan struktur mental, dengan apa yang bisa disebut kategori yang membentuk kesadaran empiris dari kelompok sosial tertentu. dan alam semesta imajiner yang diciptakan oleh penulis. Novel ini memiliki beberapa masalah tentang politik dan propaganda. Yang mana propaganda menciptakan situasi novel ini lebih rumit dan itu dapat mempengaruhi situasi politik dalam novel tersebut. Kolaborasi antara sastra dan politik dalam Dan Brown's Deception Point menjadikan novel ini populer di kalangan pembaca. Hubungan antara politik dan sastra menimbulkan keruntuhan Amerika Serikat karena dua karakter berjuang untuk mendapatkan posisi dalam pemilihan presiden. Penulis menggunakan teori strukturalisme untuk menjalankan penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dalam beberapa langkah. Pertama, penulis menulis teori terjemahan berbagai sumber, buku, internet, dll. Kedua, membaca berulang-ulang dan menyeluruh seluruh bagian novel untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang komprehensif, dan membaca berulang-ulang dan teliti sumber lain yang mendukung penelitian. Ketiga, menginvestigasi data secara tepat dengan pendekatan, metode, dan teori yang telah ditentukan serta menyusun kesimpulan dan saran untuk hasil penelitian. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah: tak terkalahkan terkandung dalam novel berjudul Deception Point karya Dan Brown yang memuat: 1. Struktur cerita dalam novel yang memuat pengantar (berkenalan dengan karakter), badan cerita (seseorang berusaha untuk memecahkan misteri), kesimpulan (misteri struktur terpecahkan). 2. Pola misteri umum dalam literatur populer yang meliputi: a. Pola ceritanya, b. latar dan situasi, c. struktur narasi, d. stereotip pahlawan, e. stereotip musuh. Yang membuat novel yang berisi tentang perjuangan politik dalam misteri misteri dan novel ini digemari oleh para pembaca karena termasuk sastra popular.
