Abstract
INDONESIA : Penelitian yang telah dilakukan memanfaatkan limbah kategori B3 (Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun). Baterai zinc-carbon bekas yang banyak digunakan menghasilkan permasalahan, dimana 98% senyawa Zn terkandung dalam lempeng Zn yang sulit diurai dalam tanah maupun air. Produk samping pembakaran batubara yang setiap tahunnya meningkat yaitu fly ash memiliki komponen silikon dioksida (SiO2), aluminium oksida (Al2O3) dan besi oksida (Fe2O3) yang tidak baik bagi kesehatan manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode presipitasi untuk mendapatkan ZnO dari lempeng Zn dengan perlakuan penambahan larutan asam pekat untuk pelarutan dan penaikan pH hingga 10 dengan larutan basa untuk mendapatkan padatan ZnO yang selanjutnya dikalsinasi selama 3 jam pada suhu 400 C. Dilakukan komposit ZnO/FA dengan perbandingan massa 20:80; 40:60; 60:40 dan 80:20. Tujuan dari penelitian ini meliputi analisis proses pengolahan limbah lempeng Zn baterai zinc-carbon, analisis komposisi yang didapat dari komposit ZnO/FA menggunakan instrumentasi XRD dan SEM, serta analisis persen penurunan dekolorisasi warna sintetis metilen biru. Komposit dikarakterisasi dengan XRD dan SEM, didapat puncak hasil XRD yang berbeda dari setiap perbandingan dan untuk hasil SEM semakin banyak komposisi ZnO dalam komposit maka semakin menyelimuti FA. Produk yang didapat kemudian diaplikasikan pada proses dekolorisasi zat warna metilen biru sebagai fotokatalis. Didapat penurunan intensitas zat warna metilen biru dengan menggunakan sinar tampak. Hasil persen dekolorisasi terbesar yaitu pada perbandingan 40:60 sebesar 98,85%. ENGLISH: Research that has been carried out utilizes the hazardous waste category (Hazardous and Toxic Material). Used zinc-carbon batteries that are widely used produce problems, where 98% of Zn compounds are contained in Zn plates which are difficult to decompose in soil or water. The by-product of coal combustion that is increasing every year is that fly ash has silicon dioxide (SiO2), aluminum oxide (Al2O3)) and iron oxide (Fe2O3) components which are not good for human health. This study uses the precipitation method to obtain ZnO from the Zn plate by adding concentrated acid solution for dissolving and decreasing the pH to 10 with a base solution to obtain a solid ZnO calcined for 3 hours at 400 ° C. ZnO / FA composite was performed with a mass ratio of 20:80; 40:60; 60:40 and 80:20. The objectives of this study include the analysis of the ZnO zinc-zinc battery waste treatment process, composition analysis obtained from ZnO/FA composites using XRD and SEM instrumentation, and analysis of percent reduction in synthetic methylene blue color decolorization. Composites were characterized by XRD and SEM, the peak XRD results obtained were different from each comparison and for SEM results the more ZnO compositions in the composite the more FA enveloped. The product obtained is then applied to the decolorization process of methylene blue dye as a photocatalyst. Obtained a decrease in the intensity of the methylene blue dye using visible light. The highest percentage of decolorization is at a ratio of 40:60 at 98,85%.
