Abstract

ENGLISH Language and context are two things that cannot be separated from each other. They are interrelated. Contextual meaning is related to referral. Each utterance refers to different objects depending on the intent of the speaker. Deixis shows a phenomenon where understanding the meaning of words or phrases requires information context. In this thesis discusses, deixis, several types of deixis according to Yule, and the function of deixis. Researcher analyzed through the work of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie Script by Hillenburg, it was formulated into 2 research questions, namely: 1) What types of deixis are found in The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie Script? 2) What is the function of the deixis form found in The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie Script? In analyzed, the researcher used the Qualitative method. Data sources taken by the writer from Script The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (2004) In this study, the researcher used a qualitative method, according to Bodgan and Biklen (1982). Is an approach to bring descriptive data in the form of written and oral data from research subjects being investigated. The results of data analysis show three types of deixis, they are : Person deixis, Spatial Deixis and Temporal Deixis. Based on the analyzed data show deixis with a total of 788 words deixis. with details of Personal deixis as many as 744 words deixis then personal deixis are divided into 3 types namely: first person deixis 405 words, second person deixis 238 words and third person deixis 101 words. Then the number of spatial deixis is 36 and temporal deixis is only 8 words. INDONESIA Bahasa dan konteks adalah dua hal yang tidak bisa dipisahkan satu sama lain. Mereka saling berkaitan. Makna kontekstual dihubungkan dengan rujukan. Setiap ujaran merujuk pada benda-benda yang berbeda tergantung pada maksud pembicara. Deiksis menunjukkan fenomena dimana dalam memahami makna kata atau frase ujaran memerlukan konteks informasi. Pada penelitian ini membahas tentang, deixis, beberapa jenis deixis menurut Yule, dan fungsi deixis. peneliti menganalisis melalui karya Hillenburg yaitu skrip The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, hal tersebut dirumuskan menjadi 2 pertanyaan penelitian yaitu : 1) jenis deiksis apa yang ditemukan dalam Skrip Film SpongeBob Squarepants? 2) apa fungsi dari bentuk deixis yang ditemukan dalam Skrip Film SpongeBob Squarepants? Dalam menganalisis peneliti menggunakan methode kualitatif. Sumber data yang diambil oleh peneliti dari skrip The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie (2004) Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif, menurut Bodgan dan Biklen (1982), metode kualitatif adalah pendekatan untuk membawa data deskriptif dalam bentuk data tertulis dan lisan dari subyek penelitian yang diselidiki. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan tiga jenis deiksis, yaitu: Personal Deixis, Spatial Deiksisl, dan Temporal Deiksis. Berdasarkan data yang dianalisis menunjukkan dengan total deixis 788 kata. Dengan rincian personal deixis sebanyak 744 kata, kemudian personal deixis dibagi menjadi 3 jenis yaitu: first person deixis 405 kata, second person deixis 238 kata dan third person deixis 101 kata. Kemudian jumlah spatial deixis adalah 36 dan temporal deixis hanya 8 kata.
