Abstract
The last chapter of research discuss the conclusion of the research, and also the suggestion concerning the research. Based on the result of the reseach it can be concluded that. This reseach answered the two research questions of 1) What types of figurative language in Song Lyrics Alicia Key’s “Song in A Mirror” Album and 2) What the meaning of each figurative language in Song Lyrics Alicia Key’s. “Song in A Mirror” Album are . Based on the findings: Figurative language is literary device that is very importand mostly in poetry or song lyrics. It brings emotions to its reader or listener. In Alicia Key’s “Song in A Mirror” Album that contained of 16 songs, the kind of figurative language that found are 9 metaphor, 7 simile, 11 hyperbole, 13 repetition, 3 irony and 1 euphemism. Repetition is the most frequent type of figurative language used in the song lyrics. This study also analyzes the meaning proposed by Leech (1981:10-23), there are seven types of meaning, such as conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, stylistic meaning, affective meaning, the meaning of reflective, collocative meaning, thematic meaning. There are three types of meaning can be found in Alicia key’s song, conceptual meaning, connotative meaning and affective meaning. However, most of the meaning of figurative.
