Abstract
Fraction is one of the important materials that students must learn. Fractions begin to be studied by students in elementary schools, but learning obstacles or learning obstacles on this material are often found and experienced by students. Thus, the purpose of this study is to compose a didactic design of fractional material based on the learning obstacles experienced and the hypothetical learning trajectory that students go through. The didactic design of fractional material is also based on learning Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) considering that fractions are very close to real-life students. This research was conducted in three steps, namely the preparation of the initial didactic design, the implementation of the didactic design, and the retrospective analysis to obtain the final didactic design. This is consistent with the flow in the Didactical Design Research (DDR) research. The results of this study are in the form of an alternative teaching material design that can be used in elementary school mathematics teaching / madrasah ibtidaiyah grade IV fractions material. Teaching materials compiled consisted of eight designs contained in five Student Worksheets.
