Abstract

ENGLISH : Social construction is common and inevitable, then dealing with the Jamaica community. Americans who colonized the Jamaican nation showed a system of colonialism that made blacks into slaves. Bob Marley as a songwriter as well as a descendant between the two blacks and whites concerned with blacks in Jamaica. The focus of the problem is post-colonial that happened in Jamaica by the Americans. Problem statement can be formulated as; 1) what colonial experience experienced by black Jamaica people depicted in the 10 best songs of Bob Marley, 2) What is the historical representation experienced by black people in Jamaica depicted in the 10 best songs of Bob Marley. This study uses Bill Ashcroft’s theory of post-colonial. Post-colonial simply is a period after colonialism. But the post-colonial notion can be viewed from another side rather than just the stage of the historical period or in terms of time, namely in terms of ideological orientation. In analyzing the data, researchers used post-colonial theory of Bill Ashcroft. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collected by reading and listening to Bob Marley's lyrics to tens of times. Meanwhile, the data is also analyzed in the following steps: Identifying, classifying, describing, analyzing, interpreting, and concluding. Researchers found the colonial experience received by black people colonized by white people. Blacks have their own characteristics to defend their own country especially Jamaica in their economic variables and their interactions are reflected in the historical representations in 10 of Bob Marley's best songs. They need some tools to save their position as black oppressed people. To carry out these movements, the power gained from songs and Reggae music chants are typical of Bob Marley. INDONESIA : Konstruksi sosial yang umum dan tak terelakkan, kemudian berurusan dengan masyarakat jamaika. Amerika yang menjajah bangsa Jamaika menunjukan sistem kolonialisasi yang membuat masyarakat kulit hitam menjadi budak. Bob Marley selaku pencipta lagu sekaligus berketurunan diantara kedua ras kulit hitam dan kulit putih peduli terhadap bangsa kulit hitam di Jamaika. Fokus masalah adalah pasca kolonial yang terjadi di Jamaika oleh Ameika. Pernyataan masalah dapat dirumuskan sebagai; 1) apa saja pengalaman penjajahan yang dialami oleh orang-orang kulit hitam jamaika yang digambarkan dalam 10 lagu terbaik Bob Marley, 2) Bagaimana representasi sejarah yang dialami oleh orang-orang kulit hitam dijamaika yang tergambar di 10 lagu terbaik Bob Marley. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Bill Aschroft tentang post-colonial. Secara sederhana post-colonial adalah masa setelah kolonialisme. Tetapi pengertian post-colonial itu dapat ditinjau dari sisi lain daripada sekedar tahapan periode sejarah atau dari segi waktu, yaitu dari sisi orientasi ideologis. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan teori post-colonial Bil Aschroft. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan membaca dan mendengarkan lirik lagu Bob Marley hingga puluhan kali. Sementara itu, data juga dianalisis dalam langkah-langkah berikut: Mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, mendeskripsikan, menganalisis, menafsirkan, dan menyimpulkan. Peneliti menemukan pengalaman penjajahan yang diterima oleh bangsa kulit hitam yang terjajah oleh bangsa kulit putih. Bangsa kulit hitam memiliki karakteristik mereka sendiri untuk mempertahankan negaranya sendiri terutama Jamaika dalam variabel ekonomi dan interaksi mereka yang tergambar dalam representasi sejarah di 10 lagu terbaik Bob Marley. Mereka membutuhkan beberapa alat untuk menyelamatkan posisi mereka sebagai orang-orang tertindas bangsa kulit hitam. Untuk melakukan pergerakan tersebut, kekuatan didapatkan dari lagu-lagu dan lantunan musik Reggae yang khas dari Bob Marley.
