Abstract

The beginning of this study emerged because researchers found that there is Imagination and Ambition that appears on J.K. Rowling Novel Harry Potter and Order of Phoenix (2003) and Stacey Bess Movie Beyond The Blackboard (2011) and have a connected with children in the story which is the main character of the two stories. the Imagination and Ambition that appears in both genres is based on their growing and developing environment. Because the Imagination and Ambition created depend on the condition of these children. The condition of the family that guides the and what kind of environment surrounds them. In addition, in a literary work the children's Imagination and Ambition can be seen based on the intrisic elements that build the story itself. Literature device is used to support the data appears. Some literary tools used by researchers in analyzing each data that has appeared the dialogue, point of view, camera technique, narration, plot and the most important is character. This research uses a comparative literature method, wherein it has discussed comparisons of the equations that appear in the selected objects. based on the comparative method, the object chosen must be more than one. Can be two or more. Besides using comparative methods. This study uses qualitative methods, where this research has described. The researcher gained the data from books observation, then the data was found and analyzed, and after the research problem was identified, the researcher described the data base on Imagination and Ambition theory. The results are: The literary devices shows the Imagination and Ambition of children and can be identified through the characters and the lives around these children.
