Abstract
Di Indonesia, jumlah limbah baterai Zn-C tidak tertangani dengan baik, sehingga limbah tersebut membutuhkan pengolahan lebih lanjut. Limbah baterai berpotensi sebagai sumber karbon yang dapat disintesis menjadi grafena oksida. Dalam sintesis pada penelitian ini, digunakan metode hummers yang dimodifikasi, yaitu dengan menghilangkan NaNO3 sebagai agen pengoksidasi dan menggantinya dengan pengoksidasian selama 5 hari. Karakterisasi sampel diamati dengan X-Ray Difraction (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), dan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil XRD diperoleh puncak pada besaran 2θ=10ᵒ yang menunjukkan GO, dan 2 puncak pada 2θ=26ᵒ dan 2θ=42ᵒ. Puncak pada data spektroskopi IR yaitu sekitar 1053,13-1165,00 menunjukkan adanya serapan C=O yang mengkonfirmasikan adanya gugus fungsi oksida setelah proses oksidasi. Morfologi tipis pada hasil karakterisasi SEM menunjukkan adanya proses oksidasi dari grafit menjadi GO. In Indonesia, the amount of Zn-C battery waste is not handled properly, so the waste needs further treatment. Battery waste has the potential as a carbon source that can be synthesized into graphene oxide. In synthesis in this study, modified hummers method was used, namely by removing NaNO3 as an oxidizing agent and replacing it with oxidation for 5 days. Characterization of the samples was observed with X-Ray Difraction (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). XRD results obtained peak at a magnitude of 2θ = 10ᵒ which indicates GO, and 2 peaks at 2θ = 26ᵒ and 2θ = 42ᵒ. The peak in IR spectroscopy data is around 1053.13-1165.00 showing the presence of C=O uptake that confirms the existence of an oxide functional group after the oxidation process. Thin morphology on SEM characterization results shows the oxidation process from graphite to GO.
